The London Lions dominated the Cheshire Phoenix 95-60 in the second leg of the BBL quarter-finals.

It completes a 168-126 aggregate victory across the two legs with the Lions overpowering the Phoenix to progress to the semi-finals.

The Lions came out firing from behind the arc, making 13 3 pointers in the first half to give them a 60-31 lead.

Lions head coach Vince Macaulay praised his team’s 3-point shooting after the game, saying: ‘It was sensational in the first half and hopefully we can carry on that kind of form through the next x amount of games.’

Proficiency from the 3-point line will be the Lions’ biggest weapon heading into their semi-final games, shooting a playoff high 38% from behind the arc so far on a staggering 71 attempts.

Dirk Williams led the scoring for the Lions with 17 points, with Orlando Parker, Justin Robinson, DeAndre Liggins and Kevin Ware all hitting double figures.

Captain Joe Ikhinmwin joined the 3-point party, chipping in 3 triples alongside Justin Robinson and Dirk Williams.

Justin Robinson was given MVP of the game by the Lions, off the back of a 13 point and 9 assist performance, controlling the offence for his team.

Matthew Bryan-Amaning led the way for the Phoenix with 17 points but it was not enough to keep the Cheshire side in the game.

The Lions controlled the boards on the night, collecting 48 rebounds to the Phoenix’s 34, including 10 on the offensive end, 5 of which were collected by Kingsley Okoroh.

The Lions’ semi-final tie will be played on the 11th and 13th of May.
